1. Who we are
LexLedger, Inc. (“LexLedger,” “we,” “us”) is a Delaware corporation that builds software for family-law professionals, including the LexLedger professional portal and the CoThread co-parenting app.
2. What this policy covers
This policy covers information we collect through lexledgersystems.com (the “site”) and through our design-partner application. It does not cover the LexLedger platform or the CoThread app. Those products will have their own privacy terms, provided when you sign up for them.
3. Information we collect
Information you give us
When you apply to be a design partner or email us, we collect what you choose to provide. That typically includes your name, work email, firm name, role, the states where you practice, the size of your firm, and your answers to questions about your practice.
Please don't send us client information or case details. We don't need them, and if we receive them through the site or the application, we'll delete them.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, our hosting provider automatically records basic technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type, the pages requested and the time of the request. This is used to deliver and secure the site.
The site itself doesn't use cookies, analytics tools, advertising pixels or other trackers. If we add a Microsoft Forms application to the site, it may use cookies that the form needs to work. Those are governed by Microsoft's privacy statement.
4. How we use it
- To review your application and decide whether our design-partner program is a good fit
- To reply to you and communicate with you about the program and about LexLedger
- To operate, maintain and secure the site
- To comply with the law and protect our rights
5. What we don't do
- We don't sell your personal information.
- We don't share your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
- We don't use your information to train AI models.
- We don't ask for, and don't want, information about your clients or their cases.
6. Who we share it with
We share information only as described here:
- Service providers that run the site and our business systems on our behalf, under contracts that limit how they can use it. This includes Microsoft (Azure hosting, and Microsoft 365 services such as Forms and Outlook).
- Legal and safety: when required by law, legal process or a court order, or when needed to protect the rights, property or safety of LexLedger or others.
- Business transfers: as part of a merger, acquisition, financing or sale of assets, subject to this policy's protections.
7. How long we keep it
We keep application and correspondence information for as long as we're evaluating or working with you, and for a reasonable period afterward. You can ask us to delete it at any time. Hosting logs are kept for a limited period for security and operations.
8. Your choices and rights
You can ask us to tell you what personal information we hold about you, and to correct it or delete it. You can also ask us to stop contacting you at any time. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under state privacy laws. We'll honor these requests as required by law, and we won't discriminate against you for making them.
To make a request, email privacy@lexledgersystems.com. We may need to verify your identity before acting on it. An authorized agent may make a request on your behalf with proof of authority.
9. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards to protect the information we collect. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security.
10. Children
The site is intended for legal professionals and isn't directed to children. We don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we'll delete it.
11. Visitors outside the U.S.
LexLedger is based in the United States, and the information we collect is processed and stored in the United States.
12. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll post the updated version here and update the “Last updated” date above. If a change is significant, we'll take reasonable steps to let you know.
